Figured I might as well address all the most recent web searches that have brought people to this website. Every couple of weeks, some very flattering search turns up like Stephanie Domet rude or Stephanie Domet is fat or, this week, Stephanie Domet sucks. And there is perennial curiousity, it seems, about my little husband.
So let’s take these one at a time. Fat. Well, duh. Moving on.
Rude. I suspect it depends: on the day, who you ask, what you said to me first, how many people before you also said it to me that day. If I have been rude to you, I do apologize. I get a little ragged and snappish sometimes. Who doesn’t? It’s just, most people are able to get ragged and snappish and be halfway anonymous. Me, not so much.
Sucks. Well now, surely that’s subjective. What a thing to google! I mean, if you think so, do you really need the internet to shore you up?
Is married to Kev Corbett. Who loves me despite all of the above. Imagine.

Steph, you are lovely. I also love Kev. And I also have meant to let you know one of my best friends thinks you are the next iconic voice/personalities to take over the CBC airwaves. Like Gzowski styles….my buddy’s quote. I don’t disagree. PS, Play more Kev Corbett. xo
These are very kind words! I should say I have a pretty thick skin about this stuff, necessary with the amount of exposure my job requires of me. And I wish I could play more Kev Corbett!
Thick skin or not – it’s just as rude to be saying such things about people. You are a beautiful human being, funny, talented and I wish I could write like you!

Dumbfounded in that familiar feeling of internet love/hate. Ugh. I almost just threw my couch through my window and set it on fire. It’s that frustrating. But then I remembered I’m a grown-up, dammit.

Funny, Rachel and I were just talking about you with neighbours the other day. Consensus was that you’re a helluva host and interviewer. Keep on irritating the right kind of people. As Oscar Wilde said, only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

Met you once…ECMA’s 2012 in Moncton, your job is over the top when it comes to Radio, author and general cultural stuff & everything in between. If people think you cheery 100% of the time then they must live on an alternate universe. My quote to the masses is “you can’t please 100% of the people, 100% of the time.” I for one admire you putting yourself out there as much as you do! Don’t let it dull your spark Stephanie!
